Festival info

Hellsinki Metal Festival aims to provide all visitors with an enjoyable festival experience. Safety, accessibility, and inclusivity have been carefully considered in the planning of the event. All persons aged 18 and over are welcome to attend Hellsinki Metal Festival.

Everyone is welcome at the event as their authentic selves. We do not tolerate any form of harassment, violence, or discriminatory behaviour at the festival.

Below you will find information regarding accessibility and inclusivity at the event.

Arriving at the festival area

We recommend arriving at the event primarily by public transport. Public transport schedules can be found at hsl.fi and vr.fi.

The event address is Nordenskiöldinkatu 11–13. Wristband exchange points are located next to the main entrance and are marked on the area map. Access to the festival area is available only through the main entrance.

Taxis may drop off passengers at the designated stopping area in front of Helsinki Ice Hall, from where there is an approximately 20-metre step-free route to the wristband exchange point and main doors. There is no customer parking available at the event.

Moving around the festival area

There are small thresholds at the entrances to Helsinki Ice Hall. Access to the outdoor stage viewing areas is via stairs or adjacent ramps, with staff available nearby. Outdoor pathways are paved.

A designated viewing platform is available in front of the outdoor stages, with staff present nearby. Seating is available in the restaurant areas, the RIP area, and inside the arena seating area.

Inside Helsinki Ice Hall, access to the indoor stage is via stairs. A wheelchair lift is available next to the stairs, with trained staff present to assist if needed. There is a viewing platform in front of the indoor stage, and staff are available in the area.

Viewing platforms and step-free routes are marked on the area map with a wheelchair symbol.

Toilets

Toilets are available both inside Helsinki Ice Hall and in the outdoor festival area. There are two accessible toilets inside the Ice Hall and three accessible toilets in the outdoor area. Their exact locations are marked on the area map.

Accessible toilets are reserved for those who need them.

Personal assistants

Personal assistants are granted free admission when accompanying the person they are assisting.

First Aid

The first aid point is located inside Helsinki Ice Hall and is marked on the area map. Hellsinki Metal Festival is prepared to respond to accidents and minor injuries. The festival’s own first aid team can treat small wounds on site and provide first aid throughout the festival area.

If you require assistance, please approach any member of festival staff, first aid personnel, or security staff.

At Hellsinki Metal Festival, the services of the Finnish Association of Harassment Contact Persons (SHYH) are available throughout the event. Our Equality & Harassment Contact Persons are here to provide support and assistance to all festival visitors and staff.

Additional information

The event does not have an induction loop system. Loud sounds, strong lighting effects, and pyrotechnics will be used during the event. Earplugs are available for purchase.
