How to prepare for the Finnish weather?

August weather in Helsinki can vary significantly: During the day, the sun can be intensely hot, so sunscreen, sunglasses, and some kind of headwear are often essential. A portable festival rain jacket can come in handy when unexpected showers hit.

As the evening cools down, a light jacket or thicker hoodie will keep metal fans warm. Proper footwear is worth its weight in gold – choose shoes that can withstand longer periods of standing and possible mud after rain. Many experienced festival-goers rely on hiking boots or comfortable sneakers. Earplugs are also important so you can enjoy musical experiences even after the festival!
